Welcome to the Building Science Centre of Excellence
The Building Science Centre of Excellence (BSCE) is an initiative of the School of Construction and the Environment at BCIT. Extending BCIT’s mandate to increase capacities in applied research, the BSCE provides advanced research and educational support to the construction industry.
New Building Energy Modelling and Performance Analysis Advanced Certificate Program!
This new, part-time program will help prepare industry for net-zero ready buildings by 2030. Graduates of this program are expected to be hired as building energy performance analysts, Building Energy Modelling managers or Building Energy Modelling specialists.

New BCIT Research Chair in Advanced Building Technology aims to transform the residential construction industry
The British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT), in collaboration with BC Housing, is pleased to announce that Dr. Fitsum Tariku has been appointed Research Chair in Advanced Building Technology. This newly established Research Chair will focus on advancing education and research in housing, with particular emphasis on decarbonization of new and existing buildings, and development and integration of advanced building technologies.
